Vineyard Wind Announces Steven Tadros Hired as Rhode Island Community Liaison

Newport Resident Will Lead The Company’s Efforts for Community Engagement and Outreach

(NEW BEDFORD, MA) – Vineyard Wind, a joint venture between Avangrid Renewables, a subsidiary of AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), today announced that Steven Tadros has been hired as the Rhode Island based community and government liaison. Tadros joins the company after serving as an environmental consultant for the RPS Group in South Kingstown, RI.

“There are many projects coming down the pipe, but what separates the work we do at Vineyard Wind is our focus on extensive and collaborative community outreach,” said Nathanial Mayo, Director of Public Affairs. “We’re excited to bring Steve on board to focus specifically on Rhode Island, as we work with our partners throughout the region.”

Tadros brings over four years of experience working as an environmental consultant in RI, focusing on local and international environmental impact statements, risk assessment and emergency response planning for the energy industry.

“Vineyard Wind is at the forefront of the offshore wind industry in the US, and I am incredibly fortunate to be joining the team,” said Tadros. “It is a critical time to engage with the Rhode Island community and bolster our relationships as operations get under way for Vineyard Wind 1 and the permitting processes continue for Park City Wind and other future projects. I’m looking forward to hearing from the Rhode Island community and building on the great relationships we have in the state.”

A resident of Newport, RI, Tadros graduated with a B.Sc. of Marine Biology from the University of Rhode Island (URI, ’16) and a Masters of Oceanography from URI’s Graduate School of Oceanography (’17). His academic research focused on the community involvement of different sciences, focusing on water quality across Rhode Island and coral reef restoration in the Caribbean.
